I was always skeptical about coming Kapolei for Sushi Bay. I live all the way Kalihi and had a hard time justifying the drive (esp in traffic). My trek to get a meal could easily become a day trip bumbai. I used to think, "what kine fish they get that Genki don't got?" But! I understood what all the hype was about when I got my hands on a tunari bomb. I ended up coming here years ago since my best friend live Makakilo and we always looking for one place to mop some grindz at. The prices have definitely changed since my first time coming but my first bite into a spicy ahi nigiri is always as satisfying. Definitely not the most convenient place for eat in. We always do takeout since the dine-in service usually has mayjah wait times but even with takeout they give hella food! I no longer live on-island but Sushi Bay is a must-go whenever I visit home.

We love Sushi Bay, and it was our first time eating here. Always wanted to come to Sushi Bay, but living in town driving to Kapolei is far! But we finally made it! We got so lucky that our wait time was only 20 mins, I heard people normally wait for an hr or so. But I guess we came around 2ish so there wasn't that long of a wait. We ordered so much off the menu because we were so excited to try everything. The portions were HUGE! I loved it. So much better and cheaper the Genkis. Everything we tried was so good! Service was great. Fast and efficient! Definitely will make a long trip back... this summer.

Lotsa food ya?! Tasty food ya?! Quick service ya?! Great find! Will be back whenever back on the island! I will have to provide photos my next go around. Their spicy tuna bowl was deep with rice but mirrored the depth of spicy tuna! I AM STUFFED and satisfied!!!

I haven't been here since years before covid so when I had an appt in Kapolei, I made sure to stop by since I'm never on this side of the island anymore. When I went there was no wait and plenty tables open! We did come on a Monday and around 2:45pm so after lunch and right before school ended (you're welcome). All the other times I've come I waited probably an hour at the least so thank goodness lol. Fish quality is so good! Size of the nigiris were thick and overly drapes the rice. For the mix poke bowls, the fish were diced small (not mushy) and not drowning in spicy mayo like most places. Only down side of the small dices was kinda hard to pick up bites because kept falling off, but still delicious regardless. The major plus side of Sushi Bay is that the quality is better than fast sushi and the price is cheaper! I ordered twice as much of what I would usually get at fast sushi and paid about the same price. I'm so happy I got to eat here again. Definitely will come back if I'm back in Kapolei again.

Sushi bay is one of my favorite sushi spots in Hawaii that my local friends highly recommended. If you are looking for sushi in the Kapolei area then I would definitely recommend! The fish is super fresh and the portions are filling. There are tons of different rolls that are all very good. I always order online ahead of time and get to go since there is a long wait! Food I come here and just order a bunch of different rolls or entree items to share with friends. Some of my favorites that I recommend are salmon skin, spicy salmon, garlic salmon, baked mussels, masago temaki, masago, and any of their rolls. If you want like a fish bowl, the salmon don is good too. Atmosphere I've never actually dined in so cannot say too much about it other than the place is very busy. Tons of people waiting around either to sit down or pick up an order. Pricing Prices depend on what you get since everything in a price tier, but in general they are reasonable. With such good tasting food and fresh fish, I think that Sushi Bay is very worth it. Service The staff was nice. The restaurant is pretty busy though so it can be a wait for the food and feel like they are in a rush. Other Located inside a strip mall so there is a free parking lot. Can be difficult to find parking though since it is a pretty busy area.

I love this place. Fish was fresh and although it seems like our order was small, we left with full stomach. First time, I came on a week day couple hours before closing and there was no line. On the second time, I came on a weekend, they have a waitlist for dine-in and it was a long wait (especially with the heat it fells super long) but it is totally worth it. They ensure everyone on the waitlist gets a seat and they close the waitlist at some point (based on my perspective, it is based on their capacity and closing time). Once seated, you can see how they make the order and I am really impressed with their coordination while making all the order while vibing with good music. I tried natto for the very first time here. Although I've heard not many people like it, I am definitely glad I get to try it here.

Any time I'm in the area, we definitely make a pit stop to sushi bay! This place is on the smaller side so definitely need to wait a bit for seats or do take out. We do a lot of take out, it's just much easier and convenient that way. On our usual is the mix don or mini mix! They pack it and it's sooo worth every bite. Also on our list order is their chicken. Their prices are the best for sushi. They give a lot and it's not pricey like a lot of other sushi places. You must try this place at least once.
